OF ALPESTRE
A secret recipe guarded
for over a century

‘When the Onesti family asked me to collaborate on the Alpestre project, I was thrilled; I usually never agree to work on the development of a brand. I have always had a special bond with Alpestre and the Onesti family. Boasting a century-old history, Alpestre has so much to tell and certainly deserves special attention…
I have spent a lot of time recovering and studying the recipes of the Marist Friars, trying to understand their modus operandi, which is certainly not easy, since these are recipes from the mid-19th century. I believe that, with the new products, the Alpestre brand has come back to life, maintaining its recognizable signature.
We were courageous, we went against the grain and, instead of adding trendy botanicals, we ‘selected and subdivided’ existing ones according to their aromatic connotations, thus creating five faces of Alpestre, each highlighting one side of the organoleptic profile of the original brand: to the gins we gave the herbaceous freshness; to the bitters and vermouths we gave the bitter side by balancing it with balsamic notes.
“A challenging project but one that has brought great satisfaction.”
Fulvio Piccinino
